While the mystery and beauty of the
snowflake will always amaze me, so does
the way that God provides. I believe that
the unlikely Texas winter weather in
March just may be God giving us one
more day of grace as we adjust. |
Somehow, we've passed right over the weekend and made it back to the beginning of a new week. Shelton came home on Thursday. Day one was pretty low key, physical therapy home visit and getting things settled made for a mentally and physically exhausting day. Friday was better, as Burns and Shelton were able to get out and run some errands, and we were able to all go to Cooper's last basketball game together as a family. By the time we all made it home on Friday, we were spent. Shelton got some emotions out, that were needing to be released. It was good for all of us. He's going to go through some tough times emotionally, this is absolutely to be expected. It's all about how he handles it and I can say that it was therapeutic. Saturday was simply a good family day here at home, and thanks to a sweet friend, a good day for Coop to play at a friend's house while errands were run. We had a great family dinner at home and then all rested well. There was a bit of an incident with an office chair and a fall. No matter what Burns tries to tell you, it had nothing to do with my assembly of the chair. :) Today was perhaps the sweetest of all. Burns and I had a great opportunity to share our gratitude with our amazing church, The Ridge. We simply had a chance to share a little about the answered prayers we've all witnessed and been blessed by over the past 8 weeks and had a chance to say thank you to the majority of the people who have carried us through this far. Shelton and I had some sweet conversations, and we were all even able to take naps this afternoon, as the winter weather rolled in. For dinner we had our weekly belgium waffles and then made homemade pretzels and enjoyed our time together. After dinner, Shelton and I talked about how strange it is that while things over the past 4 days have been hard, we've been good. In reality, hard does not have to equal bad. Hard can be good. And it our case, it has been very good.
And as a bonus bit of information, the composition of this post was interrupted by a phone call and text letting me know that both Cooper and I get a bonus day at home. This wintry mix that rolled in on the first weekend of March has granted us one more day of adjustment time together as a family. Thank. You. God.
{Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight.} Ephesians 1:3-4
